New NASA Discovery

A new planet has been discovered. On January 6th, 2020 it was announced that TESS (NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) discovered the planet now known as TOI 700 d. The exoplanet is the first Earth-sized exoplanet in the habitable zone and is 101.4 light-years away in the Dorado constellation. Plus, it orbits its star at a distance that would seem to allow water to remain liquid upon its surface. On Saturday, January 4th, 2020, renowned rocket designer and namesake of Estes Industries, Vern Estes celebrated his 90th birthday. Estes rockets asked the rocketry community to join the celebration by sharing memories, photos and comments honoring Vern and his contributions to the industry. In 1961, Vern designed the first rocket kit for sale, the Astron Scout. However, before the Scout ever took flight its prototype was created – the Orange Bullet.
